Dr. Monica is a bilingual therapist, educational psychologist, and consultant based in Alexandria, Virginia.
She supports adults from diverse backgrounds, with a special heart for Latino communities and military families.
As a Spanish-speaking Latina and military spouse herself, she understands the cultural nuances, the stigma around seeking help, and the emotional load that comes with this lifestyle.
Her work is rooted in helping people feel connected, understood, and equipped with practical strategies they can use right away.
Her clinical experience spans suicidality research in psychiatric settings, district-wide social-emotional program development, and mental-health-tailored training for school counselors and behavioral health providers.
Dr. Monica holds a PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Kansas, along with dual degrees in Counseling Psychology and Psychology & Human Behavior from Avila University.
When she isn’t working, you can find her traveling, exploring local coffee shops, cooking, or spending time with family and friends.
